2003 Hall of Fame Inductees BASEBALL
Frank McCabe

A graduate of Kapowsin High, Frank was a standout player for the Spanaway Cubs and then the South Tacoma Pines in the Valley League, but his shining moments came with the Fort Lewis Employees Association team, annual contenders for Valley championships. He averaged better than 14 strikeouts a game while hurling for the FLEAs and once whiffed 24 Fort Lewis Warriors in a 14-inning game in 1950. That same year he pitched his team to a 4-3 victory over Yelm for the first-half Valley League title while striking out 8, and he paced the FLEAs at the plate with a two-for-four performance. Frank also coached Little League teams from 1950 to '53 and coached Parkland Lutheran Church in softball.
